In December of 2017 I had to evacuate due to a wildfire. I decided to head up to one of my favorite places in California: The Big Sur / Carmel area. I thought I’d spend a couple days making photographs while the firefighters put out the fire. Little did I know that my stay would last about 2 weeks. The fire was one of California’s largest ever. I made the best of it and photographed many areas along the Big Sur coast.

This image reminds me of peace and tranquility… and it always feels good to me when I look at it..
