While driving home from a trip I saw what looked like to be a beautiful gathering of clouds over the Islands off the coast of Santa Barbara. Since I was in agonizingly slow traffic I decided to pull over and see if I could make a photograph. I set up my medium format camera and waited until the clouds were just right. I made a few exposures but this one appeals to me because the clouds filled the frame of the photograph in a pleasant way and didn’t look too chaotic.
